There are times when life seems too hard, when obstacles seem too tall, and hope begins to run dry. When it seems that God is not listening, and help is out of reach, we must trust His love, His purpose, and His plan. He counts every tear. God hears.

Frustration builds. Turmoil in my heart. Questions in my mind. Unrest in my spirit. Angry. Sad. Stifled. Afraid.
Due to a nerve problem, my voice is barely audible to people next to me, drowned out by background noise, almost impossible on the phone. The fact that I’ve been here before makes it more frustrating. Delays with doctors and medical insurance make me wait for what I need now. The medical problems multiply by the week and nothing ever gets resolved.
I am grateful for email and text messages. The last time I lost my voice, I communicated by writing notes for 4 ½ months. When frustration mounts, my vocal cords tighten and my voice gets worse. I want to be better now.
My mother can’t hear me over the phone. My uncle can’t hear me over the phone. I can’t be heard over noise in stores. I can’t use the drive-up window at the bank or pharmacy. I panic in large parking lots and garages because if someone attacked me I couldn’t scream. I am fearful.
Yes, God has answered prayers in my past—recent past. I know God’s timing is perfect. He loves 
me. The God of the universe knows my name. He loves me with mind boggling, all-encompassing love. I can’t sing praise songs in church but God hears my heart.
Have you been there? At the end of your rope? In a crisis of hope? A crisis of faith? Come with me to the throne of God and rest with your head in his lap.
Lord, you are faithful. You never leave me alone. You rescue me time after time, but the waves are rising higher and higher. They toss me around and I can’t catch my breath—feel like I’m drowning.
Dear Father, let me rest in your presence with my head on your lap. Tune my ears to the soft whispers of your love. Calm my heart to accept your timetable, your plan, even when I have no idea where it leads. Remind me of your all-sufficient strength. I know I can trust because you love me. My name is written on your hands and on your heart. You will never leave or forsake me. I am your child.
Whisper Jesus’ name. Just breathe. Rest in his love. He is with you.
The God of the universe knows my name.

So sorry to hear of your health struggles, but I do understand as I’ve battled with my own medical issues for nearly twenty years.
Yes, it does get frustrating, and even though I know better, depression and doubt have plagued me often. But just when I feel I’m at the end, God blesses me in a way that makes me look up and smile…and say thank you.
Recently my husband went into renal failure, and because of the effect it’s had on his vision and motor skills, he cannot drive. After he was discharged from the hospital, it seemed like he had a different medical appointment every day, in addition to dialysis three times a week. I’d driven very little in the last year, and was truly apprehensive about our situation. But, it’s been over a month now, and I’m navigating like a pro! He hasn’t missed an appointment and is doing much better…and I’m doing much better. My pain isn’t as bad, I get twice as much accomplished in a day than I used to, and I SLEEP at night! And it had literally been YEARS since I had a decent night’s rest.
Caring for my husband during this stressful time helped ME deal with ME, and who else but God could open my eyes to that?
